Rule Changes for 2011 Finals - dowload as a PDF
During the Mid Winter Meeting in January the rules committee met and requested rule changes for the following which were approved by the full board. The attached minutes are lengthy and sometimes confusing if you were not present, so I am summarizing below those rules that need your attention for the 2011 NHSFR & NJHSFR. Changes are in yellow. These will be ground rules for the 2011 NHSFR & NJHSFR and it is suggested that these changes be implemented at your state finals to mimic the NHSFR & NJHSFR. Obviously some of these changes do not apply to the Junior Division.
Page 44 number 17-18 Rodeo results must be audited within two (2) days after the rodeo to check for Mathematical errors.
Page 106 Queen Horsemanship Delete: Each contestant will be judged twice for horsemanship. Each time Judged will be worth 25 points. Horsemanship will now be judged once and be worth a total of 50 points. Also on page 129 on the official score sheet remove under Horsemanship 25 each go.
Bullfighters: An approved NHSRA rodeo is required to have at least two bullfighters. This is considered a change for safety reasons.
Page 70 #2 and Page 79 #9 will change to: to qualify for a marking, rider must have the rowels of the spurs touching the horse above the break of the shoulders when the horse’s front feet hit the ground on the initial move out of the chute.
Page 60 number 3 delete as it is now and replace with: Modified Rigging Requirements. Rigging shall be leather and shall not be more than seven (7) inches in width top center, front to back and over 6 inches at the “D” ring. There may be a concave inset at the center back of the body, not to be over one (1) inch deep and not over eight (8) inches in width. Rawhide may be used under the body of the hand-hold and tapered down the full length of the body to allow it to wrap around the “D” ring inset. Also, there may be full rawhide around the “d” ring inset not to be over four (4) inches in length.
Page 130 add: Outside of glove- no horizontal cuts from the 2nd knuckle down and inside (palm side)- no cuts or slits allowed
